The European full partners are well spread over Europe. They all have a different regional profiles and areas of specialisation: Deusto has a focus on the Mediterranean area, Africa and Latin America; Göttingen focuses on Europe and its relations with the Arabic World and India; Groningen covers the relationship of Europe with East Asia (Japan and China) and the US; Strasbourg focuses on Western Europe and has excellent relations with major European institutions in the city, Udine focuses on the Mediterranean, Krakow is well-known for its expertise regarding Eastern Europe including Russia while Uppsala focuses on the Nordic countries. European students have the possibility to continue the research track also at one of the four third-country partner institutions to widen their perspective further.
